Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful week. I am back home after a long vacation and I can’t wait to share this new post with all of you. In the past few months I have shared several looks, beauty tips and my travel experiences with you. Since I got a very good response and it was something you guys seem to enjoy a lot, I decided to bring back the beauty post.😀
I have mentioned in my previous posts that I am very strict when it comes to beauty products. Since I am back in India and with the hot weather in the horizon, I thought what better time than this to share the skin care product which I am currently using.  It’s Clarins new launch UV Plus Anti Pollution. It’s the perfect City Defence – Anti-UV, Anti-Pollution, Anti-Ageing.  I believe it is designed for life in the city, with an extremely fine, lightweight texture compatible with all skin care and makeup products….to keep Asian women beautiful and well protected in their urban environment.

I am now very conscious of how the sun impacts my skin so, I try to make sure I apply a sunscreen each morning. It’s always the last step before I put on my makeup. As this will protect the skin against sunburns and premature ageing. Air pollution has become increasingly harmful, with a very damaging effect on skin quality. So, Clarins has now gone even further, to offer even higher protection, not just against UV rays but also against the harmful effects of pollution. It makes my skin feel smoother and brighter and you don’t even need that much, just a dab on your fingers and gently massage in circular motions till it gets absorbed. Guys, always remember to first apply : Face Wash first ➡️ Moisturiser then ➡️ followed by Sun Screen and ➡️ lastly Makeup. It’s a great way to start the day and step out of the house. According to skincare experts, there is no such thing as ‘water-proof’. It is ‘water-resistant’.
But, even that isn’t effective due to sweating. Apply sunscreen cream atleast 2-3 times a day.

The answer is – Sunscreen is necessary. As long as your skin is exposed to daylight through your windows at office & home, you need to apply sunscreen to protect you from UVA & UVB rays.

Denim On Denim

Big Hello to everyone from Sacramento, the capital of California. It’s a beautiful sunny day over here and I still can’t believe it. Somebody pinch me. 😉 Inspite of it I can still feel the chills as it’s quite windy as always. Today I am inspired by the blue colour and you won’t believe I have also rented a blue Mustang car this morning. I am thinking of keeping it for a week as I have a list of cars which I am going to rent till I am here in USA. With the sun shining, I was so happy to be here and its making our visit much more enjoyable. I love wandering the streets because every location feels like a picture perfect place.

I feel the lightweight layers are the best way to style chilly Spring sunsets. I like the idea of mixing the ease of a classic pair of denims with calm colors and a statement jacket. Here I am doing the same. A good pair of jeans is an essential piece of clothing to have because they can be altered for any occasion and be worn with almost everything!  I styled my denims along with a simple stripes top to sum up the look. This look is perfect for any occasion, whether it is a casual day at the office or exploring the streets of a new city. What would you wear while exploring a new city?

Home Away From Home

Good Morning from yet another hotel room this time in Reno,Nevada. I have to admit that this post is very special for me as I am going to introduce you to my partner in crime who is also my soulmate, his name is Rohit. 🙂 As this is not a fashion post, I couldn’t resist anymore to share this photo of us both sitting here as we are having such a great time here in USA. Since, we travel so much lately it’s important for me to feel comfortable at every hotel we’re staying at. And to be honest I love visiting a new hotel every time even if we visit the same place since it gives me a whole new experience. I noticed that finding a place to stay that will satisfy all of your needs can sometimes be tricky, but if you do then your stay is always that much more enjoyable. After a busy day in Reno, it was great to come back to our hotel room to unwind at the The Silver Legacy Casino & Hotel. It is the perfect luxury boutique hotel whose location is perfect with its endless options for clubbing (slots, table games), dining, and entertainment. The whole place is intimate and has a lot of history attached to it, an interior that is vintage and I would say it has got the best lobby in comparison to other 5star resorts/hotels I have been to. It’s fun to look through everything! Somedays I just didn’t want to leave because I was so nice and cozy! It really felt like a home away from home.

What I especially like about Silver Legacy Hotel & Casino is my Suite Room, it was such a great space. The warm color palette and the vintage feel of our room and great view from the 27th floor was very comforting and I thought it was the perfect spot for some photos.

Beauty : The Ultimate Fall/Winter Essentials

I’ll have to say that starting the new year with exploring one of my favourite cities in the world is the way to ring in the new year. I feel like I am completely recharging my batteries here in San Francisco. Therefore I wanted to share my favourite products that I like to use when I am travelling. This beauty post is about the right beauty products for winter/fall season. Lets get started! A lip product can do so much for your face. While you can use a lip gloss to give an instant shine and healthy look, you can use lip pencils to change the shape of your lips and to create optical fuller looking lips. Lips are so determinative, so using the right products can make a huge difference!

Application
Before applying a lip pencil I like to moisture my lips using a balm, since pencils can be quite drying. After a little while I dab away the excess (otherwise the surface turns out to be too smooth) and I start lining my lips. You could either go for very tight lines and create a sophisticated look, or go the natural way by fading the lines with your fingers. Mostly I leave it like this, but putting a lipstick or gloss on top is an option as well.

All the products you see in the pictures are Maybelline products. Beauty, to me, is being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick ass red lipstick. 😉 which I often use. My shades are : Maybelline Super Stay 14hr lipstick # 060 Continuous Cranberry. Then there is similar tones of fall season which matches with the leaves my shade is called # C22 Water Shine pure. Then for the evenings I’ve got my super Shining Lip Gloss # 10 and for nights my maybelline lip balm.

Coming on to nails part. Let me share over here that on Friday’s I do my nails and get them ready for the weekend parties and get togethers. Shape them, colour them etc. And these days I am loving all the fun shades which Maybelline has launched like Blueberry Ice, Lavender Lies, All that Glitters, basic shade of Baby Pink, Dark Pink and Maroon.

Apart from these my travel essentials also include Maybelline New York Total Clean makeup remover, the Colossal Kajal and Vivid and Smooth Blue liner by Maybelline Eye Studio.
